“Caring for Sanitation Workers, Protecting Bone Health”: A Special Volunteer Service Event for Sanitation Workers at the Luoyang National Garden, Organized by Pingle Guo’s Orthopedic Clinic

Today is Great Heat, and it also happens to be Cleaners’ Day—a day initiated by grassroots public-service organizations based on the principle of starting with ourselves, encouraging everyone’s participation, mobilizing the entire population, and beautifying the environment—to pay tribute to sanitation workers.

Sanitation workers are the city’s beauticians and the guardians of our environment. Day in and day out, year after year, they tirelessly toil on the front lines of sanitation—through the sweltering heat of midsummer and the bitter cold of deep winter.

Today, a team of volunteer experts and professional nurses from the Guo Jiayi Volunteer Service Team of the national-level intangible cultural heritage “PingLe Guo’s Orthopedic Manipulation Technique” conducted a volunteer service event at Luoyang National Garden, themed “Caring for Sanitation Workers, Protecting Bone Health.”

 

 

At the scene, Dr. Yang briefly introduced the history of Pingle Guo’s Orthopedic Therapy, the status of the Guo Jiayi Volunteer Service Team, and the original purpose and scope of the team’s free medical consultation services.

Immediately afterward, doctors and nurses sprang into action, providing on-site consultations, blood-pressure checks, topical medicated patches, and ear-acupressure bead therapy for the sanitation workers who had lined up to seek advice about their health. At the same time, in response to various questions and concerns, the medical team offered clear explanations and tailored recommendations, and demonstrated several simple daily exercises to promote bone health.

 

 

No sooner had the free clinic concluded than the doctors and nurses hurried back to their posts, while the janitors on site had already returned to their assigned work areas. All were serving the city with diligent dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.

Every profession deserves our respect. The volunteer service activities of the Guo Jiayi Volunteer Service Team will continue to be carried out in even richer and more in-depth ways, with a focus on reaching more groups that need bone-health care and deserve our admiration.
