Early on the morning of June 9, exhibitors for the national intangible cultural heritage “Pingle Guo’s Orthopedic Manipulation Technique” had already taken their positions at the Central Square in Mengjin District, Luoyang City, preparing for the upcoming free medical consultation event.

With the hot weather, the event venue was bustling with visitors, many of whom stopped by to seek advice on various health concerns. The doctors and nurses on site provided tailored solutions for each individual’s specific issues.

The lovely nurse brought a variety of tools to offer free blood pressure checks and ear acupressure with seeds for everyone.

Some have wondered: Why would doctors from Pingle Guo’s Bone-Setting (Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital) travel such a long distance to attend this event and provide free medical consultations? In response, the on-site physicians explained that, as a national-level intangible cultural heritage, they bear the mission and responsibility of safeguarding and passing on this tradition. Moreover, Pingle Town in Mengjin District is the birthplace of the intangible cultural heritage of Pingle Guo’s Bone-Setting. Therefore, their visit to Mengjin District to offer free consultations and promote traditional Chinese medicine culture is both well-founded and an obligation they cannot shirk.
